I do want to point though that many people just leave it at TF+TR and report that what little DTS:X content there is actually sounds just fine. You're talking about a fairly incremental difference...

Honestly, not sure if you can feasibly lower them with those high backed chairs -- it looks like they barely clear the top of the seatback as it is.

Since you're just sitting around waiting, I will take a moment to point out that Neural:X upmixing does NOT turn a DTS-HD MA soundtrack into DTS:X. It's still just upmixing :)

only way I could think of would be to get a "smart" power strip with a 12V trigger input, then you could run a trigger cable from the 5200 to the smart power strip. That would trigger the power...

OK, sorry, I lost the original context and you WERE talking about upmixers.

The specific error on that front is the misconception that somehow Neural:X will work better on a DTS-HD encode whereas...

It's really two separate things. Internal configuration and then verifying that the full signal chain from source to speaker is working right -- the latter is inherently best suited to an *external*...

Yes, pretty much. The problem with a "virtual" speaker vs. a physical speaker is that it is inherently less stable and predictable.

If conditions are ideal, you can get a very good simulation...

I think it's really an "it depends" situation. When I had RC-10's I crossed them over at 80Hz, but the port was less than a foot from the wall behind them and I still preferred them with the ports...

On the 7200, 6 of the 9 amps are assignable in "Custom" mode. Only the center and surround L/R amps are locked in. So, yes, if you have an external amp for FR/FL, you can take those two amps and...

Yes, all of those models support a 7.1.4 setup with Zone 2/3 pre-outs active. In this respect they're all identical, although note the 6200, 7200, and 4300 have 9 amps built in, whereas the 6300 has...
