Question - when it comes to lining the walls of the cabinet. I see I can get Ultratouch in 3.5" thickness (somewhat) locally. But can order the 2" stuff online. 3.5" seems awfully thick. Am I better...

It seems the common wisdom is to build such ports short by half the height. So if WinISD says a ports that is 10" wide, 3" high, 8" long gets you the tuning you want, then you would build it 6.5"...

I'm going to keep the port free of visible obstruction designed, and not brace the top and bottom. But it's easy enough to add a little brace to the backside of the port, unseen. Shown in yellow.

Port length in WinISD is 10.08" long. I am building them only 8.705" long, or 1.375" shorter than WinISD calculates. 1.375 is half the 2.75" height of the ports.

If I'm using the right mass properties (which puts your sheets around 66lbs) I'm seeing the box come in at 203 lbs including the bracing. Most of that is the Trupan, at 191lbs.

Gotcha. Nice build.

Curious to hear the rationale for the 40ish hz tuning vs a higher tuning with more output up top. Certainly your subs could handle a crossover in the 60-80hz range.

I'm...
