They aren't too fond of dipole/bipole speakers for surround duty.

Completely agree. My last 3 receivers were Onk's, 1 with MultEQ and the current 818 with XT32, and I wouldn't buy another Onkyo until they get a decent EQ system. Hopefully they will come to their...

Hi,

Disabling video processing on Mits front pj's

I would like to use the Onkyo 818 AVR to solely handle the VP in my system. Having the 818 and the HC7900DW both processing, seems to degrade the picture quality. I have turned it off on the 818...

Turning OFF Video Processor

I would like to try just the VP from the Onkyo 818 is there a way to disable it on the 7900? I have it turned OFF on the 818 as I found having both of them active degraded the picture, IMO.

They would both be active. And, to my surprise I find that I get a crisper, sharper picture on my pj by bypassing the 818 altogether as compared with source direct mode.

If I use the video processor in the 818 would that override the processor in my Mits 7900 projector or would they both be active? I'm currently using source>direct which turns off the 818 processor.

Thanks Keith.

I sometimes use NEO:X but I don't find it to be night and day better than DSX, if at all. I like what both of them do for my 7 channel setup using wides.
