The manual eq in denon/marantz is worthless crap. Audyssey is auto only,
but does have custom eq curves now. Auto eq with xt32 isn't bad at all. Even
for music. Yamaha is the complete opposite....

receiver is 2 prong and rca only. Not that compatible.

Pretty much all brands will turn off the subwoofer/crossover and room eq
in direct or pure audio playback mode. I wouldn't use it. Standard stereo
should play back as 2.1 speakers.

Large is full range/no subwoofer and small is subwoofer activated....

arc is only for audio from the tv back to the stereo through that same cable
that feeds the video from the stereo to the tv....
