I would agree. One of the best interfaces for any set-top. I've used it extensivley and while there are a few problems, the navigation is very nice.

The moto DVR boxes are known to have problems with analog channels (usually the channels below 100). Just hope your area moves to all digital soon.

The noise you are hearing isn't the hard drive. A hard drive in a PC doesn't make much noise and neither does the one in your 6412. But the cooling fans do! What you are hearing is the cooling fan...
