I would bet they are significantly better than the Andrew Jones Pioneers. Not that I'm saying the AJs are not good for the money. Just that these Sonys are significant step up from those, but they...

Exactly. Once you notice it, you can't help but not notice it on every scene it's there. It's totally unacceptable, but I have confidence that LG will fully fix it and soon. Most importantly,...

My reasons:

1. Too dim on the show room floor next to LCD/LEDs.

2. The possibility and/or the reputation for image retention or 'burn-in'.

3. Poor marketing, both by the manufacturers...

The only reason why we're getting this format is because it's based on existing disc technology. Yes, it is hampered by small and/or not optimum storage capacity, but it's still going to be the...

Music Hall Marimba

Does anyone own these or at least has heard them? They get excellent and consistent reviews in that they supposedly provide very balanced and musical sound without being harsh on the top end...

No! If it's working perfectly fine don't do anything.

Yes this happens sometimes, but usually becomes very infrequent or goes away with age.

You could, yes. They are not bad for the price, though you would do better to get the ssb3000s for the fronts and use the 1000s for the rears.

Yes, there are no official release dates for players or media (at least that I know of). I would expect there to be by fall though, but we'll see.

This makes me think. Why has LG limited themselves to only producing UHD units when they can apparently produce regular HD units for a much cheaper and more viable price? Given that price is...

I have no doubt that true RGB OLED is better in virtually every way than WRGB OLED. WRGB is kind of cheating in a sense, but it's still better than LCD/LED. Let's hope Samsung gets back into the...

I would think the F8500 is significantly better, if for no other reason than the much better blacks. But also for the brighter whites too.

I could be wrong, but I don't think anything, even 24fps, will be encoded on the actual disc beyond 4:2:0. It's not a big deal, IMO, as the higher the resolution the less noticeable color...

That's a good point though that the somewhat crushed blacks may mostly be the result of 8bit color sources and not a fault of LG's processing or the OLED tech itself. We've been without a display...

We'll have to see, but I doubt the UHD players are going to even be $500, let alone $1000. I suspect they'll be priced around $300 at first, because they are based on existing disc technology. I...

I don't own a last generation KURO, but if I did I certainly wouldn't be looking to go buy OLED at this point. I would just keep and continue to enjoy the amazing KURO.
