Thanks Mike! Please keep us informed. It would be odd if they only offered the new software on "new" units as that would make them decidedly different than all the other X500's out in the wild. It...

A 160" wide 2.35:1 screen only has a surface area of 75.6 square feet, compare that to the 99.8 square feet for the 16/9 image created when zooming. That's a lot more surface area to spread the same...

The only issue I see with zooming is the size of the image he has. To zoom to fill a 160" wide image were looking at 100 square foot 16/9 image. At 1500 max lumens on the 600ES and not much more on...

Definitely. There are many situations where an ultra-short throw projector makes sense. There are plenty of people with tight spaces that also want a huge high quality image.

For you and I the performance needs to increase. Let's face it, I don't keep projectors long enough to utilize the benefits of a laser or LED light source anyways. Though I am hoping a 4K JVC laser...

If you aren't looking for higher performance then the Viewsonic Pro9000 can give you what you want (minus the contrast performance of a JVC). It's relatively cheap, 1080p and has a laser/LED hybrid...

Brightness is a huge factor here. Even with a "lowly" 2000:1 contrast ratio, the high brightness can do wonders to what the image get's interpreted by our eyes as. When I was looking at a couple...

Agreed. If they could bring us a $1500 LED DLP projector that's slightly higher performing than the 1070 or HD25 would be awesome. That would still be hugely behind the performance of a low end JVC...

The resolution isn't that odd when you think about it. Without e-shift we're looking at 1280 x 960, then factor in the quadrupling effect in resolution e-shift brings and we get 2560 x 1920. The...

According to the press release for the 2400ZG it's not a 1080p native.

So that means the resolution, when eshift is enabled is 2,592 x 1,944. Does that mean the native resolution is 4x less?
