Yes, agreed. I would think for sure that anything below 0.0001 fL. would be indistinguishable in all but a pitch black room with a full field black pattern on the screen.

Yeah, I would think anything below 0.0005 fL. is indistinguishable from absolute black with any actual content on the screen.

LOL. There's a lot of truth to this. The question is the 4" more worth an additional $500? At 10 feet or more, I'd say it very likely is. At 8 feet I'm not so sure.

You can't go by what you saw with the F5300 unless you know the Eco sensor was disabled. By default, it is enabled and significantly reduces the brightness of the display.

Yes, get the F5300 while you still can. The 60" is pentile, but the quality of the picture is really excellent. It's one of the best bargains ever.
