I guess the quality levels obtained with 3D LUT solutions for reasonably linear displays are such that tweaking in order to achieve artistic impression makes it pretty hard to evaluate correctness...

So in reality it is kind of 2x2K instead of 4K. Come to think of it, if they would add another shift element at 90 degrees angle to first, they could have poor mans 4K.
