Well I just used the Colormunki with HCFR as I did a few years ago using the older guide and it worked fine. Other than my device being older is there anything actually "wrong" with that?

Oh, I won't be leaving it there permanently. That's the whole point for the unobtrusive (...ish) brackets or hooks. The screen will only rest on them while watching something. We can even open it...
