What people are talking about is a come-and-go math issue that pops up only when profiling one meter to another. If you aren't profiling (and sometimes even if you are), it won't affect you.:)

It's essentially used for direct measurements...

It's essentially used for direct measurements (from the lens) on projectors, and if you want to do a non-contact flat panel calibration that takes ambient light into account. That's about it.

Sorry, but there really aren't any more steps. It's just that the luminance the display produces is higher or lower for each step (except for Black and 100% White) depending the gamma curve used.

It's showing you the resolution being INPUT , not what is being OUTPUT. This is a fixed-pixel display and will always display content at that fixed resolution (4K).
