I designed this recently, 15 cubic feet, 16hz tune. Can shift the port to fire up if you need easily. It was meant to go in a similarly narrow space.

If it's fed a clipped signal, there's no fixing that. Otherwise, if a signal would end up beyond the specified voltage, the amp will attenuate the signal until it falls into spec.

As long as your meter is hooked up in Volts mode, and not amperage, you'll be fine. Amperage turns it into a short basically, and it will pop the fuse inside.
