I think the XMC-1 can be updated via USB flash -or- over the internet. It's a good excuse for Emotiva to send out a trinket with their logo and a blue LED.

Just run the A speaker outputs to the high level sub input, then the speakers connect to the sub. The sub peels the bass signal off the speaker level signals.
