Are you running the sub at speaker level or line level? A line level feed to a sub requires shielded coax.

12g is great for the L/R speakers.

Hard to tell - but I think that the IR receiver is just a phototransistor and amp. It would have different signal levels than the IR-Tach outputs.

I can't believe it is worth the hassle to wire IR between rooms from 1 iTach - but it can be cheap.

If you want to do it - you can either get a long male-female 3.5mm plug extension or build one...
