Um, the other forum. Yup. A place where a bunch of aging cats from the CRT projector days hang out. Alledgedly.

For my money there really is no compelling reason to upgrade from 500 or 600 unless...

I am not sure if this is posted in this thread anywhere; when using an Integral the Philips handles HDR to SDR conversion identically to the Panasonic.

I have an M-65. HDMI 1 supports HDR sub sampling and 60hz. I have used the Philips player for HDR. Not a Roku fan after my experience with the Roku 4. Maybe this attempt will be better . . .

The strength of an HTPC for 4K is in using MadVR to upscale 1080P Bluray to 4K. In some instances the result is virtually indistinguishable from 4K content played back by a 4K BD player. IMO it...

The Roku 4K thread has chronicled a litany of challenges. Notable in it is the early on implied assurance that HDR would be forthcoming in a firmware upgrade from Roku tech support. As it has...

To me there is no need for a second native 1080P projector. My preference is 1080P BD scaled to 4K on a JVCRS500 using MadVR and an Nvidia card (970 and up) on a PC; it is the best 1080P BD image I...

I think MadVR upscaled 1080p Blurays on the JVC look amazing. I also moved from the Sony 300ES to the JVC RS500. I would agree that in many respects the Sony matches or exceeds the JVC; I wasn't...

I love the Echo as well. Surprised there is not a routine available somewhere that allows for renaming. BTW, I have a daughter named Alexa :), so of course we use 'Amazon' as the name. Sigh.
