A hardwood 3/4 piece of plywood should be fine. Like a paint grade birch plywood. Don't use sheathing/subfloor grade. Put a lot of screws into the metal and I would stick a bunch of liquid nails...

if there is any chance of a water event in that basement you will regret putting the walls on top of that sub-floor system. It you get a couple of inches of water you will need to rip out the plywood.
