Thank you! We live in a small apartment rental so mounting is not really a great option for us. And sitting back on the couch, the distance from eye to panel is maybe 7-8 feet. So not a lot of...

More or less never watch Blu-Rays! The FiOS 1080i content was sharper but I didn't know how much of that to attribute that to the quality of the F8500 over just the resolution bump.

I would say good viewing angles trump good blacks for my needs.

What are the downsides to the F5300? The bump to 1080p is nice but not sure it's a significant upgrade from my T5064.

Very interesting. For some reason I had been under the impression that LCDs had pretty decent viewing angles. Almost sounds like I'm better off saving some cash and going back to the T5064!

What Am I Missing About the Samsung F8500?

After much (but possibly poor) research and more than a little hemming and hawing, I took the plunge on a new 50 inch F8500 during the recent closeout blowout. And I have to say, I have a mild case...

Very interesting. My understanding is that most cable HD content is 720p (or 1080i?). So a 720p TV is actually optimal in this case? Over both 1080p and 4K sets?

Yes, it didn't make sense to me when I first read it somewhere. So was that completely incorrect?
