As far as I know, the iNukes are not made or marketed for HT use. They're pro amps intended for use in PA systems. In that environment, the fan noise is irrelevant (and most likely inaudible).

If it's playing music too quietly for your liking, adjust the settings. If it's playing music and it's not supposed to, the unit may be defective.

IMO, it would be an okay decision, but that $40 will get you almost half way to a second SUB-1200, which is where I'd put my money*.

(*I'd actually put it toward an SVS SB-1000 or PB-1000.)
