Yes definitely do not focus on equipment. Your main priority at this point should be layout and sound isolation design. I'd recommend getting the whole design complete before any framing starts....

I'd have thought mid and low frequencies would go right through the flex. I guess it depends on if your room has an outer shell beyond the DD/GG/Clips and what that looks like.
