After a few months of ownership the freeze-ups got too bad so I sent it in for the repair. Well the freezeups are back. I waited 3 months to get it back (Jan-Mar) and the fix only lasted 4 months....

I looked at the Sony and found it very poor at NTSC, the Toshiba I saw had poor geometry and strange colors. I ended up getting the Panasonic CT-36HL43 and have been pleased.

Yes, zoro it is a refurb unit. I am pretty sure I experienced the freezing/skipping issue but don't particularly want to send it in to Denon and entrust the player with UPS.

I saw what i saw. Analog cable and VHS via composite on the JVC had lots of noise compared to the Panasonics. Again YMMV, I could have been experiencing a bad shop floor sample.

I don't think any of us like having to spend extra for the STB but the marketplace is still so fragmented and their are different standards for cable, OTA and DBS that make even Zeniths attempts far...
