I own SVS subs as well and it does not make a difference whether the AVR is -3 or 0 other then the auto on works better. The difference between myself and most others is I take what I read into...

No that advice was not 100% correct. You should never go back to the sub and increase the Sub amp gain after calibration. No the world will not explode if you do but it's not the ideal way to do...

That does not sound right. you should be seeing a 7-9db increase going from 1 sub to 3. If not, they are not level matched or you have some phase issues.

Have you verified that all three subs are working together instead of cancelling eachother out? I love lots of bass but +12db hot just drowns out the higher frequencies and does not sound good at all.

I have tested and measured it both ways. I loose no headroom with the sub trim at 0 opposed to -3 and my subs auto on works better, so why should I use -3?

Wow...Yea you should not have any issues with all that firepower. 2 PB13's and 1 PB16 should be able to hit 123-124db at 20hz...Which means you should be able to play reference level running +6db hot...

Huh...I have ran that scene at reference level and never had any chuffing issues. I guess that is one advantage of having multiple subs sharing the load.

EOT intro is probably the scene that has killed the most subs being it's pretty much a long 10-20hz sine wave. Steady state tones will heat up voice coils fast.

If you keep the subs equally distant (in pairs) in relation to the listening position then XT32 should handle the calibration. I would still use REW to measure the system and verify the results.
