Just want to clarify, from what I know HDCP 2.2 "copy protection" would only apply to 4K content. At least this is what I believe I've read.

Who knows though until things get finalized hopefully...

But they do not have HDCP 2.2 so if that gets implemented on the BD it won't pass through the AVR. Onkyo has HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 but it operates on at a lower bandwidth and IIRC a lesser color...

It's not a non-factor. Most surround speakers can't reach down to 80hz. Many are good to maybe 120hz. Set a global crossover so your surrounds aren't getting 80hz content and it can gimp the fronts...
