Some tend to regard the Bryston SP3 as more sonically pure then the Classe' but I don't think it would be smoother. So if one puts a scale of tube to SS, one might have McIntosch on left (for SS),...

I would agree that Onkyo/Integra does a better job at making technology work. I wish they also put in more effort on the last little bit on SQ. When I finally got fed up with my Denon 4310 and moved...

I would need to know how it sounded on 2 channel music versus the Marantz 8802 before I would consider the 80.6. The consensus is the 80.3 (which I have) got beat by the 8801 and the 8802 appears to...

Very good question. I believe the 8801 only bypassed video processing (like the 80.3) and never turned it off.

Well I am glad (or maybe not?) that I follow this thread. I was almost ready to buy the non 4K Foundation when I decided to instead get a preamp to go with my 80.3 and wait for Atmos, etc to settle...

I believe the cross over settings in the Oppo only apply to the analog outs, if I am not mistaken.

Okay I realize this may be too early to ask but right now I have height speakers (PL II z) and ceiling surrounds that are not in use. Room is 13' wide, 16' deep and 9' ceiling. Having blown in...

I know someone who tried a Hegal SS integrated with Kef Reference and did not find them a great match. That was a surprise to me as Hegal seems highly regarded but now seeing a second datapoint. ...

That says a lot for the A31 as the Classe' IMO would be the next step up from the Halos. The concerns I seen with the ATIs, perhaps not with the signatures as the designs are different, is the...

Assume a blind test where you could choose between A and B - only knowing whether listening to A or B, not what they are - and have freedom of time and music selection, and be able to take notes. ...

I have a 1008 so I know the Onkyo would be the weak link with the Krell but not as much as you think. The best part is you can replace it later with a Foundation, Marantz 8802, or who knows what by...

Since I have not heard the 8802 I am going by the input on this forum but I would consider the 8802 plus a good 2 channel amp to add to the M8807 for L&R, such as the Parasound Halo A21. Edit:...
