Yeah, the Pico's a pretty potent little cabinet. Hard to believe it is a single 10, and not an elite one at that.

Glad you like it. Pretty much a perfect fit on one side of an EP4000/Inuke 3000 or...

Well, I haven't tested one to destruction, so I don't know the real-world limits.

In simulation-land, the limits of the Alpine SWS 10D2 are entirely thermal (with the recommended 4th order...

Nice looking work!

I'd suggest that you spend the $80 and grab the 3000 DSP, there is a big difference in capability for not a lot of additional money.

Couple quick clarifications:

Don't fight gravity. Set the cabinet on its side to install the side panel.

My bracing suggestions should be in the plans package. Might be labeled 6b instead of 6d, the changes between those revs were concentrated on the throat end.

I'd put bracing in the shaded areas:

Be careful with the high-powered test tones. You can let the smoke out of a driver's coil quicker than you can turn the knob.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way.

The main concern is to avoid...

I'd recommend wiring it 8-ohm, running things stereo. The amp will run cooler and the amp's stereo power output matches the needs of the sub.

When bridged, the NU3000DSP will be too much amp for...

Doesn't quite work that way, because power and SPL have a logarithmic relationship.

Log 1500 - log 500 = 0.47

0.47*10 = 4.7 dB increase

So, tripling the power nets you about 5 dB. It's...

I'm able to do a little bit better than that on the 3/4, but not as good as I thought on the 1/2.

Just checked my last Compton's receipt

1/2 is $35.20

3/4 is $49.94
