Leave the seat where it is and use the mic as described above (bolded). Don't worry about reflections off the boom/stand. Moving the seat would have way more detrimental impact.

No need for a new Bluray player. Atmos comes as a TrueHD track and the player bitstreams it to the AVR where the Atmos info is decoded.

WRT to studios - the takeup of Atmos by the movie industry...
