Keith, correct on both counts.

I saw "30k" on your first graph. Looking again with your prodding, I was obviously wrong. Sorry.

And yes, the comments that XT32 messes with the signal less...

Better than any system using Audyssey's hackneyed approach to multisubs. Just use a Y-cable out of the MRX's sub out.

In my previous home I used 5 subs and an MRX300. (I did use an 8x8 miniDSP as...

I wouldn't put "perform well" and "Tannoy Gold" in the same area. The Mark Dodd designed Tulip phase plug drivers are so much better than the previous Tannoys. And they're cheaper than the antiques...

Interesting. Both your and Keith's graphs show more equalization above 1kHz than I would've expected given comments earlier in the thread.

That sounds like a problem, and I guess explains some...

Is a new Anthem MRX310 out of budget? That will give you plenty of power for Q100s, and much better room correction than the Marantz. No separate amp needed or even useful. (I've run Q100's off of an...

While others have posted such speakers, I'm personally not a fan of an 8" concentric above a bigger woofer. If the baffle needs to be wide enough to support a large woofer, why not use a large...

Well, they did organize the first demo of their shiny new processor this summer with "room correction" provided by steady state 1/3-octave tones, so I'm not sure what one could reasonably expect...

avParsec covered pretty much everything important. I only have one general thing to add: current pro amps tend to have the rack mounting points integrated into the front plate, so they're 19" wide....

They're also an American company, which was your other qualification.

Nothing wrong with that. It's also worth noting that an AVR with good room correction is available for around a grand....

That's not quite true. It's the first multichannel amp to use Hypex's "nCore" Class D modules, which are genuinely SOTA. They have distortion lower than most AB amps (inaudible, I agree) but also are...

No. Perhaps in a theater, but not in a small room (as commonly understood in acoustics, i.e. smaller than a theater or auditorium).

The evidence is plain as day in the Harman measurements. Their...

So wait, your "argument" is that for the Audyssey Sound Equalizer box to work properly at levels other than cinema reference, there needs to be upstream loudness correction, even though they clearly...

Sanjay's right. Audyssey hadn't come up with DynamicEQ yet. IIRC, DEQ came out sometime in 2008, and their standalone box predates that by a year or two. As for master volume, is it really that hard...

How many sources?

IMO, the nanoAVR is theoretically better if you have 1-2 HDMI sources, because the correction is the same but there is no A/D/D-A conversion loop. If you have more than two...
