I'm pretty sure It actually attenuates the signal down to the limit, so no harsh clipping. This was done well.

As long as your meter is hooked up in Volts mode, and not amperage, you'll be fine. Amperage turns it into a short basically, and it will pop the fuse inside.

Not too much of this will be interesting in REW. Most of the THD tests will be done in the RTA and have the voltage and waveform data...

Was calculating peak watts, not rms ;) They manage 90v p-p into 4 ohm.

That measurement was at like 15db down from max.... like 16ish volts peak to peak... figure around 8 watts rms

Sorry I didn't get to this sooner. The voltage limiter is accurate. It limits based on voltage peak, as indicated by the Vp. It displays wattage in RMS.

So (Vp / Math.sqrt(2))^2 / R

Properly setting the signal chain up would have the output from the avr clipping at the same time as the amp it's feeding. This gives you the most dynamic range.

That is the old version, though the new one has some weirdness with the port flare type. I just left it at default and it was basically dead on after factoring in the shared wall/height correction...
