I suggest you format your 4TB HDD using exFAT. Which is supported on the Oppo BDP-10x range of players, along with modern Mac and Windows computer operating systems ;)

I suggest that you disable any 'A/V Sync' option you may have enabled on your TV and just use the option provided by your surround sound amplifier.

I've just tried playing my '2001 - A Space Odyssey' .mkv file which offers a (5.1) 6Ch PCM 48.0KHz/16-bit audio track... It's playing perfectly via UPnP.

I have all my (1:1) 2D Blu-ray disc .mkv movie back-ups stored on a Synology NAS and play them via SMB or UPnP. Both methods of connection are very stable ;)
