The best way to test a system is with test TONES from a test disc (CD).

Stereophile has a good test disc you can buy online, which has test tones and sweeps that cover the entire audio range.

Brushed cymbals are the only thing I know of that is above that.

Concerning yourself with what is going on above 10 kHz is a waste...

The thing is that "passive preamplifier" is a self-contradictory terminology.

If it is passive, it is not actually a preamplifier, but just an attenuator (volume control) and (usually) some input...

95% of the speakers on the market have an impedance of between 4 and 8 ohms, so that is certainly not a problem.

The 70 watts at 4 ohms with a 1Khz test tone is probably a bit of an over-estimate...

I think the NAD components and B6 speakers would be a very good system; hard to beat for the price.
