I solved the problem by upgrading my cable...

I solved the problem by upgrading my cable service so that all HD channels are available to me, the networks and most specialty channels. Thanks to all who read my post.

I have the Titans amd a CC-270 center channel. The dialogue is much more open on the 270 than the 170. The Atoms are good but lack dynamic range, depth and power handling compared to the Titans.
