I think you're cutting the drywall open. At that point id add a pvc pipe to be able to fish next gen cables through it if HDMI ever gets replaced.

Use a light when you mud and sand the joint back...

Lastly at L/M i bought both a signal line booster and isolator for my sub amp out the avr. With both of them(line amp then isolator) it got rid of the hum in my subs.

I can confirm I never saw any flickering in high lamp mode. With about 150 hours on the bulb I havent seen any flickering in low lamp mode either for a loooooooooong time. Super happy with this...

Those dimensions are close to the same as mine. I went with an A.T. Screen at 124". I also went with 2 layers of drywall with green glue, and insulated everything as i didnt have the width.
