I have a onkyo 3007 which can bridge the two front speakers. I tried it in both modes. I can say the bridge mode sounds cleaner at very high volumes.

You may want to try looking at high end audio salons, see and hear them, a good place for pricey used high end gear that work like new.
The xsp-1is all analog including the 2 way cross overs, nice....

Keep the speaker wiring short as you can, like 12 inches if possible and use the lowest gauge wire between amp and sub. This will help keep the damping factor as high as possible with any setup.

You already have one the best bang for your buck amps, the crown, you really don't need to replace it unless you need more power, or you just think you can find another power amp that sounds better...
