Check where your speaker wire connects to the AVR and make sure there aren't any stray wires poking out of the connectors.

IMO, Audyssey XT32 is the current king of auto-EQ in "budget" (under $1K) AVRs, especially if you have dual subs....and there a lot of folks who would agree with that statement. :)
