Just FYI, the cache *should* still persist even if you didn't have the BBU when you do a soft or hard reset, because you're not physically cutting off the power - the card is still getting juice...

Well... all other SAS raid vendors don't have very good track records w/ the Seagate 1.5TB either. I can tell you at least that my 1TB seagates w/ SD1A firmware (model # ending w/ 340AS) work great...
