Yes, a "wired" connection is generally best for firmware updates, although not likely to get anymore on this unit. Otherwise, the PowerLine adapters have proven to work fairly reliably.

Yes. No issue when playing different sources. :) The 4520CI has the added feature of using Zone 4 for the HDMI output, so you can still use Zones 2 and 3 for audio only if you prefer.
