Thanks for the reply. The Best Buy unit does seem like my best choice, but I likely will need to see if anything better comes on the market. I have to give credit to Best Buy for creating a unit with a relatively low price point. Rasheed
Hello, With my impression that both of these two options are focused on the built-in car market, I am having a very hard time finding a device that meets my needs. However, if such a device exists I am sure that one of you would know about it. Here are my requirements: -able to play ota hd2 sub channels -reasonable antenna option either good built-in one or can place on dash -would be nice if it works on a Southwest flight window seat (XM part that is) -plant to...
Some PBS stations are carrying the BBC coverage "commercial-free". In my LA DMA, I have many HD choices for PBS (both OTA and via Dish Network), but none of them indicate it in the schedule. KCET (ex-PBS) is going with the BBC feed direct - likely with no other commentary (should be an excellent choice for picture quality seeing what they did earlier with NHK HD...
Hello, It appears both Dish and DirecTV have licensed from Willow TV the HD feed for the upcoming tournament. While it is also available online, it is likely many customers won't get the max bandwidth unless they watch through the satellite feeds. http://dishnetwork.mediaroom.com/ind...778&item=25960 http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...116300189.html As a bonus, the Opening Ceremonies (at least on Dish) was shown free to all customers in HD Live (Dish...
As alluded to in the other Spanish National OTA HD thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1148949, this telenovela is premiering October 5th. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/show...ian-touch.html Basically, a Brazilian soap done on an old-school Indian love story premise. It is being dubbed into Spanish for this market along with English CC. I have never tested the English CC on the HD feed, so I did not if anyone had any experience if it...
Watching the kick-off concert from the ESPN2 live feed via ESPN3 live. It is in HD, it looks like the faded look (24 fps style?). ESPN3 is maintaining the 16:9 ratio, but I can't really say how much bandwidth they are giving for it to be in HD (unlikely enough). Rasheed
DirecTV is carrying the HD feed of this cricket tournament as part of its cricket PPV offerings. I haven't seen any of the video from this tournament, but it seems like this might be the first time there has been HD cricket shown in the US? Anyone seen any of this video and have feedback on it (the US feed from the UK that is). They do not appear to be charging additional on DirecTV as long as you already pay their $10 per month HD enabling...
Just to mention that they are now on the West Coast (if not small number).http://www.fiveguys.com/store_locator.aspx?s=CA Rasheed
It is pretty clear that MTV VMA 2008 will be produced in HD. Are the Nielsen issues keeping it from being aired live simultaneously on Palladia? Or are there post-production efforts required to deliver the show in HD? Palladia PR indicates it will be a 'reair'. I think not doing a live broadcast is unfortunate. Thanks, Rasheed
Excellent picture quality -- not gritty or too dark for most of the episode (save for the auntie house scenes). Show is interesting, but how do you amp it up to be a regular series will be interesting? I wish more shows weren't so 'dark' on the imagery so that it would really let the HD format shine. Rasheed
