Nope sorry, I didn't have a Spyder meter to check the autocalibration capacities. But tomorrow I'll received the X500.
Manni01, just take a look on the picture includes in the review, maybe you will see the living room where I'm taking my measures and maybe you wil understand why the contrast level even with this "low" number is excellent for this kind of environnment and why I didn't care about your opinion.
The definitive review is now online with all the pictures here : http://www.projection-homecinema.fr/2014/01/05/test-jvc-dla-x700/ I have added, two videos on one of them you can see directly how is the dynamic iris working.
I'm putting the last pictures on the review right now, like this one E-shift comparaison :
Hi Noah, I will review the X500 in a couple of days, so you will to wait until then to get an answer to your questions. I'm measuring the contrast ratio using a Luxmeter and the sensor is directed to the projector and not to the screen. I will update the X700 Review this evening with more pics.
I doubt you will get more native contrast in my test room (a living room). The device I'm using to take my measures are describe on the beginnig of the review.
My review about the JVC DLA-X700 is now online : http://translate.google.fr/translate?sl=fr&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.projection-homecinema.fr%2F2014%2F01%2F05%2Ftest-jvc-dla-x700%2F A lots of pics from the projector, are missing I will add them tomorrow. Work in progress

I just get the information that BenQ will bring out a new flagship projector, the W2500 : http://translate.google.fr/translate?sl=fr&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.projection-homecinema.fr%2F2013%2F12%2F12%2Fbenq-w2500-dlp-full-hd-3d-ready-juin-2014%2F There is not a lot of information right now but it will be an improve version of the actual W1500.
