The presentation of ET was great. The makeup on the hosts, however, leaves a lot to be desired.
Great news (pun intended) Bob! Can't wait for another local news outlet to run in HD.
Will Good Day also convert to HD at that time?
I'll replace all Disney and Pixar films, the must-haves from my collection, and anything new that I purchase will be Blu, otherwise, I'm fine with the SD's that I have. It's actually about time I went through my SD DVDs again and see what's there to ebay that I don't have a need to keep any more.
Nice to see both KCRA and KXTV showing the new daytime talk shows in HD. Both Ellen and Oprah (both for the wife, but not nearly as objectionable now that they are in HD were in HD today.
Here's hoping ET and Insider are both going to be in HD this evening/night. KOVR has had the technology to record and delay for a while, so I can't imagine these won't be in HD tonight.
Same commercial has been playing here, so I assume it's available. With a 2 year commitment as I recall seeing, also.
It would take a lot more than a free Wii to get me to commit to Comcast triple play for 2 years..
My Tivo guide had it listed as HD starting today, but it was broadcast as letterbox SD. There were some older segments that were standard 4x3, but everything else was letterbox SD.
Was this my local (KVIE-DT in Sacramento), or a national issue?
That may be, and I never made any reference to the HD-DVD encode or how new the master may be, however I don't feel that this version holds up to what the movie, or Blu Ray, can be.
I appreciate that the Director can and does alter the look of a movie to get a desired effect, but I don't think that's what I'm seeing on this disc. New encode, same old, whatever, this disk doesn't shine as an example of what Blu Ray can deliver.
