http://mw1.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/NAZI - National SOCIALIST party Definition of http://mw1.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fascist Fascism and socialism are pretty much the same thing. They goal of both is to control a nation's economy (and therefore everything the people do) through extensive regulations that come from a centralized power. The only difference is that socialists impose their will with celebrity endorsements As for playing all those early classic...
Speaking as someone who is on their 3rd Wii I have to say that it is a big deal. I'm sure Microsoft has a faster turnaround than Nintendo (it's mathematically impossible to be slower than Nintendo on this) but it's a freaking hassle for something that shouldn't happen in the first place. Like I said, I expect things I buy to work. I think it's ridiculous that I have a 10 year old vehicle that has lived outdoors in both the heat of the south and frigid tundra of PA, and...
That's the way it should be. I guess what I really hate at the consumers who tolerate and often blame themselves for poorly produced products. What is the incentive for Microsoft to ever produce a working console if people are sit around blaming the user for the RRoD? It's such a crazy world that we live in. You make a video game machine that doesn't work and its users will blame themselves for the defects, but if a drowning man dies when attempting to use a 360 as a...
Failing to meet up with a CGI loop is bad, but having the lifespan of an adult mayfly is inexcusable. At least you can play a game on a system that doesn't match its proclaimed specs but what are you going to do with something that just sits there with a glowing red ring? I also hate those naive types that simply parrot out the small thoughts of their favorite rock star on the topic of corporate profits. I couldn't care less if the $400 360 cost only 1ยข to manufacture. ...
I'm one of those people who complain about the 360's failure rate and, yes, that is the only aspect of the console that I complain about because it's a damn fine system otherwise. I've said many times that I would have bought a 360 a year ago if the thing actually worked because the games look beautiful and it has an incredible library. I just hate poorly made products. Maybe I'm just crazy but if I'm going to buy a $300-$400 piece of entertainment I expect that the...
I believe Nintendo was denied the use of the name "Ultra 64" because of Konami. Correct me if I'm wrong about any of this, but I heard that back in the NES days Nintendo was paranoid about a second video game crash, so to prevent developers from flooding the market with the shoveware that killed the Atari 2600 Nintendo only allowed a company to release a certain number of games in a year. To get around this Konami created the Ultra brand to release more games. Then...
The Metroid Prime franchise probably has the best art direction I've ever seen in games, but I hate how the Wii forces those graphics to look so damn grainy. 2006's Zelda:TP has an underwater cavern scene that didn't come close to the realism I saw when exploring the underwater frigate I saw in 2002 in MP. The low resolution of the Wii makes it seem like you're viewing this incredible world through a screen door. I understand why Nintendo chose to ignore HD this...
I agree with Bryan_P. Since you already have a PS3 the 360 won't offer you anything truly unique aside from the games, and after playing the Wii's Metroid Prime 3 I can't imagine playing a FPS with a standard controller anymore. Even when not using the unique functionality of the wiimote I find that I really like the wiimote/nunchuck setup because I can actually rest both hands on my armrests while playing a game or put my arms into totally different positions. Also,...
I don't think the additional year would have done anything. The system was out for over a year and a half and it was still exhibiting the bug. Even the Elites released a few months ago were shown to have the same problems. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft only made their warrenty extension announcement due to threat of an impending class action lawsuit or something similar. The simple fact of the matter is that the problems with the 360 fit perfectly with...
The 360 was released a year earlier, has HD, and only cost $300. I'm not asking for HD, but don't think it's too much to ask for a $250 console to be at least three times as powerful as an original xbox. I think that one of the reasons the Wii's so underpowered is that it was intended to be a sub-$200 system until E3 showed it to be so incredibly popular. The overheating problem that plagues the 360 is simply a result of Microsoft engineering. Selling products with poor...
