The brightness specs are maximum brightness. The brightness of nearly any modern plasma is sufficient unless you have a very bright viewing environment. I would generally not consider this spec in selecting a TV.

I wanted to know how those both models compare each other.
But I would like to add 2 points in comparation:
1.- I was wrong with models, the plasma model is LG 50PX4R, no sure what is the diference with the 50PX5D
2.- I want to use it some times with the PC and Xbox 360.

I didn't think Sylvania was ever a brand name of Thomson. It used to be a brand name of North American Philips but is now Funai Corp.
