D Nice came out and re-calibrated my 111 this fall. He had done the original calibration some four years ago. He was able to lower the black level on this occasion from .0013 to .0007.
I posted this as a separate thread then thought better of it and reposted it here: Can anyone tell me the number, value, and type of fuses employed in the MRX700? I am interested in trying some aftermarket audio specialist fuses and was hoping to avoid disconnecting and pulling my receiver out of it's cabinet location more than once. And yes, I know that many folks consider the possibility of sonic improvement via this route to be a form of self delusion. Thanks in advance.

Edilguy, I don't know the build date but I purchased the display new in July of 2008.

Actual comparison is going to have to wait until my Oppo player arrives. My estimation is that the effects are concentrated in the darkest and lightest areas judging from the inverted Z curve, however this is not something I really know much about. Frankly I find it difficult to believe that it wouldn't be apparent on the right material. We shall see.....
D-Nice came out to the S.F. bay area this weekend. I had asked him to do a follow up calibration on my Kuro 111. It's been three years since he first had done my display. At that time I had a B&K receiver. He noticed immediately that there was something off in the gamma. All of my sources are routed through the Anthem 700 in "through" mode now. He bypassed the Anthem and this corrected the gamma problem. I can confirm from this, as others have suggested, that Anthem...
For me, a happy owner of a D-Nice calibrated 111, the main drawback with these displays is the crushing at the near black end of the spectrum. Take a black and white blu-ray like The Apartment. I've seen this film in an excellent theater with fine projection and I have to say the amount of detail that's missing on these displays in the darkened apartment scenes is not small. The cinematographer's artistry is pretty much obliterated. I suspect that this is a common...
Somelogin, you have managed to insult, in one way or another, practically everyone on this thread. I have to say I would be surprised if you manage to get anyone to come out and help you. I certainly understand why a calibrator would avoid you.
It looks like this might hold some clues to your question regarding Kuro vs. Panasonic ZT. http://www.hdtvexpert.com/?p=3082
