it should retain what you have already paid for through the live server. your hard drive is just remote storage. (i'd tell you how to format the hard drive, but i don't have my 360 to verify) ;)

i sent my console in for repair/analysis on thursday. the lock ups were getting worse by the day. it always locked up on the 360 splash screen when first powering on. i would get intermittent lock ups in games, but i could count on it...

part of the reason i stopped playing halo 2 on xblive was because i got tired of the kids and cheating. the other reason is that i picked up World Of Warcraft from Blizzard. i picked up a 360, but i'm still playing more WoW than 360. ...
