Depends on who talk to at Panasonic. The first csr gave me the runaround and didn't want to fix my tv. I called back and complained and the 2nd rep had me off the phone in 6 min with a service guy at my house in 3 business days; took 10 min to replace my A board. I would say just get the best deal you can get on the tv and call Panasonic if you think you need it. I had extremely mild FBr, but wanted piece of mind.
