congrats! building from scratch - a lot of work. I found your thread since I too am running an av8801 and I'm embarking on iRule with GlobalCache for my Oppo 103. Subscribing.
I'm making quotation marks with my fingers because the "price" is one case of Sam Adams Boston Lager. Sorry to say, I love it, and it crushes, but our family is growing and I've lost the sq-ft argument with the spousal unit. Bill's info: http://billfitzmaurice.com/THT.html here it is next to my TT: http://hakalugi.net/images/TT-THT-angled-sm.jpg http://hakalugi.net/images/TT-THT-head2head-sm.jpg The THT is obviously on the left. The unit looks the same as this...
yet, they do show the epson #1 over the panny 7000 here: http://www.projectorcentral.com/home...projectors.htmthe blacks of the panny in 3d look better in that head to head review since the iris is disabled in epson 3d. so that is one diff, if you want to watch some content in 3d and need dark blacks.i've come to the same conclusion. looking to install one in the next 30 days.
the router connects the private network (usually 192.168.1.0/24, ie: 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.100, 192.168.1.101 etc) to the untrusted 'internet' a router by defition connects 2 diff networks. a firewall is a router with rules, often an implicit deny to all inbound traffic, and home ones use 'nat' (network address tranlation) to provide a basic layer of protection. for your needs, forget you have a router, it's the 4, 5, 8 port switch in the back of hte 'router' that's...
how so? hdmi video is direct (but just got a switcher so that my change) and component is switched via Zektor. pre-pro with external amplification is rather vanilla. only diff is that the EQ tunes the sub's signal and the 2nd sub-output (rca) is sent to the buttkicker amp which has it's own filters and such. the sub (TT even) is soo damn efficient, i don't need to bridge the 1850HD, so i thought i'd use it's other channel for my center and stay XLR/balanced for the main...
Europa? my favorite Jovian moon, Cool! http://www.scifidimensions.com/Dec00/2001books.htm so far, it's been rather a non-issue PJ (convergence, blobs, etc) always sharp and the contrast and other slight "less than industry leading" specs seem to be less important when one considers the 3yr warranty and so far good initial quality build. for people like me who want to watch and not fuss, it's a great bargain. the smell of burnt plastic is the only 'issue' that goes...
you say: " I finally after some work got the TV to work normally with the reciever but it still loses the picture once in a while if only for a moment." are you running: source -> reciver -> plasma ie: are you using the reciever as a video swticher? what source? no, 720p should be fine. if you're seeing 'squares' that's often mpg compression and if you see it in shadows you plasma may be too bright. have you calibrated it yet? (search for 'avia dvd'...
i got my Z2 in 2004 and just upgraded to the Z2000 and i'm loving it. i also upgraded my TT to a THT not quite sure it was necessary, but can't hurt i was using ML CLS as L/R and the were/are fantastic, not as loud as most, but just so natural and transients and voices are fast/natural. this actually led me to find a center channel that could hang. i couldn't comfortably afford the ML Center channels so i kept looking and found the Magge MC1. it's supposed to...
i found it to be the same throw as my z2. i can't say exactly, b/c the body of the z2000 is larger so i did have to move the mount by 2" but otherwise the same or a hair wider.i am at 10' or so and fully wide-zoomed-out, i bleed over my 92" screen by an inch.being wide like this helps with the brightness, so you'll enjoy being at that length. (and it's really quiet so no worries about being overhead)cables: i've never bought PE's cables. i run a full 50' and sync up fine...
true. and... i like horn subs. i've installed a lot of the popular (non-horn) brands here for hire (SVS, HSU) and own Martin Logan speakers so i've demo'd a their subs and a lot of brands to figure what had the ability to crush and yet play 'tight' and 'fast' and horns do the trick (just add the "path length" to the normal distance calculation to figure 'speaker distance delay' on your pre/pro). and since i like to EQ things (cutting peaks) and have amps (don't...
