BTW, if you notch, be sure to cover each notch containing power with a steel protector plate. (This is why holes are preferred - to gain separation from the wall surface.) Yes you can run coax in the same notch, but separate notches...
You can use wiremold so that it doesn't show. Cut the baseboard short and run wiremold where the cut off bit use to be. Or if you want to get fancy (and have deep moulding) you can route a channel. You'd have to use surface mount...
Interesting technique. I like it. What gauge wire are you using, 14? And what box is that? It's not a masonry box, but it looks pretty deep.
Well, you are in Canada...
It's kinda hard to explain. Ethernet uses balanced circuitry. Common video applications don't. Suffice it to say that UTP is okay for some applications but not for others. Likewise coax. Thus my suggestion of pulling both.
I like Leviton's Quikport series. Many many options and colors. Check the catalog on Leviton's site.
Or whatever. UTP (e.g. cat6) must operate in a balanced circuit for good noise rejection. Coax is much better in an unbalanced configuration. Current use would be video or cable/satellite. Not sure what to expect in the future. I'm...
MTBF is the mean of the failure distribution of the specified component - some fail more quickly and some last somewhat longer. Think of it as the average. (I know you understand this; I'm addressing lurkers that might not.) You're...
Jeez, what's your listening level? Measured the upstairs sound level?
I wonder how he managed to get all the way through the finger without flinching. Think there might have been alcohol involved? When will someone sue - and win - because the manufacturer didn't include a sobriety checker in the power...
