The 1080 is a short throw projector, not a newer model than the 1070. It's for people who need the projector mounted much closer to the screen.
I like the Pioneer speakers http://www.avsforum.com/t/1278774/pioneers-speaker-genius-hits-low-price-point. Scour Best Buy for a clearance or open box 3d receiver.
Only the bottom shelf is rated for components over 100lbs, so plan carefully. Otherwise it looks good.
Makes you wonder how a lamp was ordered when details are of no concern.
In order for it to work with a 3d blu-ray player, it must be hdmi 1.4 compliant. Being able to play 3d from the computer is NOT the same requirement.
If the height works for you, it sounds like an excellent Ikea hack idea.

Don't sweat it. First adhere them with some scotch tape to see if you like the placement and glow pattern.

Have you tried other input devices on the receiver like a cable box or Blu-ray player?
