Follow up: the problem has crept back in. Waiting for the service provider to find the issue again. As a result, we are trying to switch manually via sat and its not pretty.
Thanks again for your patience.
Just an FYI: last nights storm caused a major fiber outage from our Indy hub. The service provider is working hard to get us back up and running normally. But at the moment, we are not able to pass HD full time again until this issue gets resolved.
Thanks for your patience.
Couple responses here:
WANE (along with WISH, WTHI, WLFI) did not air the Bears game due to contractual obligations CBS has with the NFL. It was not under our control.
With the artificats on 15.1 during the Colt game: I've checked our encoders and have bumped the bit rate up on 15.1. We had lowered it some to air CBS basketball on 15.3 a few weeks ago and it appears I didn't reset it to its proper level. Its back up now.
Not your receiver but for sure 5.1 related. We have an issue with a piece of gear that we had to bypass around to clear the audio. Hopefully it is just a quick fix and we won't be in stereo only for long, but for now we are only feeding stereo.
Hello all. A little early holiday present for you basketball fans I hope....
This weekend CBS is allowing us to do something we haven't done before in my memory. WANE will be airing both regional games. Butler/Stanford will air on 15.1 in HD. Ohio State/South Carolina will air on 15.2.
This is probably a one shot deal with the network because of the proximity of Ohio State to our viewing area, but it will be interesting to watch as we've never done it...
Thanks for the patience as we iron out our sub channel situation here at WANE.
15.2 went live with COOL TV this morning. Its a music video channel. The radar moved to 15.3.
We will be adjusting the streams accordingly with bit rates as we see all 3 live for a while.
Feedback is appreciated!
Something "cool" going on, eh?
Yes, we brought 15.3 back online a few days ago for stream testing. The changes you see highlighted on the PSIP tables should go live sometime Monday if all goes well.....
