When I mentioned several speakers, I was thinking of hooking up a 5-channel receiver and running it on the "5 channel stereo" setting. It was just a thought. I understand that you can't just use a bunch of speakers and wire them in series or parallel to a stereo feed and expect to get good results. But I was wondering if multiple small speakers would reinforce the bass response at all. It seems counter-intuitive to me, but I think I read that this can be done with...
good point. I guess I didn't realize that ceiling speakers had gone high-end. I was aware that in-walls were available from Triad and other high-end manufacturers, but for some reason I thought ceiling speakers were relegated to "background" music and thus didn't come in high-end flavors. Anyway, as implied by my initial post, my current thinking is $300 or less a pair, probably closer to $150 - $200. In the Dayton-type range. That may not get me the Noble or...
an overwhelming inventory of high-end ceiling speakers here. http://www.audiophileliquidator.net/...aad0983de058e4 If price is any indication, the Sonance line must be very good. They are quite pricey, over a grand a pair for most of them. THe above website has them for about half of retail, which is still a little rich for my blood, especially since I think I am going to be putting a couple sets in the kitchen and maybe the family room as well. So for about 6...
http://www.altecpro.com/pdfs/CS_Part_1met.pdf may be a bit dated and geared to office environments, but good info I think. More info http://svconline.com/mag/avinstall_roof_wired/ http://www.cepro.com/article/how_to_...peaker_systems http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=715623
Thanks for the suggestion Curtis. I'll take a look. Anybody know anything about Goldwood speakers? http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=302-462 The crossovers look good, a lot better than the cheaper version http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=302-474 They also sell them in a wall-type speaker http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=302-454 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=302-468 Is there any benefit (or...
raising up an old thread. I am moving into a new house, and want to install some ceiling speakers in a dining room, just for ambient "background" music. The dining room is open to the living room where my HT setup will be, so if I need to crank it I can fire up the HT system. But there are times when I just want a little background, and have it come from the ceiling above the dining room table. In addition, I will probably put some ceiling speakers in my...
I see a lot of requests, but not many responses. But I'll ask anyway. 1. Budget: $1000 approx 2. Seating distance: 8'-10' 3. Size/placement limitations: 42"-48", mounted above a fireplace 4. Uses and sources: TV and sports, HD and blu-ray 5. Room lighting: BRIGHT, south-facing windows on both sides, plus windows on a side wall as well. This will be a family room TV, we have a 61" DLP in the living room for "serious" viewing. Looking for a mid-range set that...
still no photos of the red cherry?
I just got a mail promo for a phone and internet bundle for $60 a month. Does the phone have all the govt. taxes and fees as a regular landline phone? In other words, will my bill be more like $75 a month by the time all the taxes and fees are added in? I live in Agoura Hills, if that matters. I also have DirecTV, so I'm probably not interested in TV services.
