I've been on this forum for years but not so much recently until I decided to upgrade my sub. the thought occurred to me that I never published any pictures of this room that I built. I did 100 percent of this room with my own hands from the studs to the carpet but I learned everything I learned from this forum so I wanted to say thank you and show off what you were all able to help me pull off.

Ive had this sub long enough to really start falling in love. It really just pounds on you during movies. I actually turned it a bit below 75 cause its just so violent! Thought Id snap a couple pics of it. I still cant get over its shear size!

Finally got around to watching a full movie with this thing, oblivian. Ive never felt low freqs like this! Its pretty amazing how real everything in the film seems when you can feel it. the experience is different from my old sub. The old sub gave me that boomy sound like a import car on a friday night at a stop light. This sub has less of that and more of the youve just felt an earthquake sound. I think im experiencing home theqter the wqy it should be now. its...

First of all welcome to the forum! I find it neat when someone stumbles upon this place for this first time. Be prepared to be overwhelmed by information! Anyways, I recently upgraded to an SVS from an older Cadence Sub. I haven't had it long enough to play with it much at this point but I'm extremely happy with what I have heard. Customer satisfaction with them is amazing, fedex damaged the original and SVS sent out a replacement sub before I sent the original back....

If u have a receiever with a sub out run a cable from that to the main input on the sub. No need for the outputs on the sub. Your left and rights should also go to the receiver. This forum is full of peiple shopping at every price point so dont worry about that. My only advice is to set your budget and research. If u spend enough time researching youll know whay your buying and be happy with it. Theres a buying and selling forum here also if u are looking for used u...

I would look for forums on the specific items you are thinking about buying to see how other owners rate them. As far as matching the sub to the speakers I think most people will agree that this is not necessary. If you plan on going beyond 2.1 to 5.1 or higher, than you want all your main speakers to match, but most of us here do not have matching subs. I'm not familiar enough with the products you mentioned, but others will chime in with some thoughts and maybe some...

Question... I was just reading through the manual (suppose to be working) and am confused about page 24, section 1 B which is verify the sub level after running an auto setup. On mine to calibrate it to 75db I had to turn my receiver sub level down to around -8. I left all subwoofer settings alone. Reading the manual however is leading me to believe I should be setting the receiver at 0 and turning the sub itself down until reaching 75db. Is this how you guys did...

So uh, this sub startled me last night! With the other sub the only testing I did was music played through my phone. With this one I fired up a couple bluray scenes of Inception. Wow! I literaly felt like I was in the building that was falling down in the beginning! The first time the sub fired off I jumped! This weekend ill watch some full movies. So far i love it and no funny smells.
