so how does wmc get its guide data. did M$ pay some one off?
Edit: it looks like both xbmc and media portal will pull local ota guide data just fine? I know mythtv does as well (gave up on myth tv, along time ago)
Were just using an ota tuner and then "other sources" for different content. The only reason we have an ota tuner is to watch the news and for what i call "lazy tv"
lazy tv: the act of just having the tv on and watching some thing that you would not normally watch just because
Dont get me wrong and this isnt one of those bashing threads. Im just looking for something even easier and cleaner than wmc as far as usablity goes. XBMC is pretty very pretty. Media portal has huge potential. We have all read the things about wmc. and im not really worried about that at the moment. I used to run a myth tv box a few years back and things have gotten better. There is just so much info out there and I looked last night and finally i decided you know ill...
Currently running a very successful build of wmc7+mb and other items
Its been a long time since I looked at xbmc. I also discovered media portal.
What is the status of true live tv using a tuner card on xbmc.
How about media portal 1 or 2
The WAF must be very high.
So if I cant program my harmony to work flawlessly and for it to be stable for her then WMC is where I will stay.
Ok so quick rundown of what i got going on
HK AVR-254 in 5.1 configuration (zone 1)
5 - 6-1/2 Inches Kevlar 2-Way In-Ceiling Speakers
1 - Bic F12 sub
Speakers (Zone 2)
4 - 6-1/2 Inches Glass Composite 3-Way, Dual Voice Coil
3 - Speaker Volume Controller RMS 100W (Slide Type)
Ok on to my problem. 5.1 works great (zone 1) I wired up the speakers for zone two. Which will eventually consist of 4 speakers. Right now however I...
Ok I suck at doodling so eff that.
but ok. The receiver for its second zone as an L and R channel. If I came out of that and went to a volume control then to a speaker then everything past that would have no audio
Thats why I was thinking of using this distribution block which esentially puts it in parallel mode because from the reciever would come to that block then each speaker would have its "own" line directly from that block which would in turn run to the vol...
I dont think your an idiot. I know how the volume controls work, etc
My Question is do I wire these in parallel or series.
From what I think is supposed to happen. I think I should come to the Distribution block from the reciever then to each volume control then to the speaker and on the one volume control thats gonna control two speakers those would be in series
I doodle a pic
